BI & Data Lead, Apps (Remote EU)
Mid-Senior level · 100% · Permanent · Fully remote · Zürich
Job description
You’ll be the app data expert at Quantum. You’ll analyse which app businesses we acquire, and how every app in the portfolio performs after we do.
Apps live and die by their numbers: installs, retention, cohorts, LTV, ROAS and payback. You’ll bring those numbers together across every studio into one clear view, and turn them into decisions on where to invest, what to fix and what to buy next.
This is a hands-on analysis role with real ownership. You’ll set the standard for how app data works across the group.
What you’ll do
Acquisition evaluation
Screen app businesses quickly using app intelligence tools: downloads, revenue, rankings and category trends
Analyse target data rooms in depth: revenue by platform and geo, cohort retention, LTV curves and UA efficiency
Judge the quality of an app’s growth: organic or paid, repeatable or one-off, and where the ceiling sits
Flag red flags early, such as declining cohorts, rising CPIs, platform or channel dependency, and revenue concentration
App performance across the portfolio
Own the core app KPI dashboards: installs, DAU/MAU, retention (D1/D7/D30), ARPDAU, LTV, ROAS and payback
Define consistent app metrics, so every studio and title is measured the same way
Track UA performance by channel, campaign and creative, and show where spend is working
Analyse monetisation across in-app purchases, subscriptions and ads
Produce monthly portfolio-wide performance reporting
App data foundations
Bring together MMP data, ad networks, App Store and Google Play, product analytics and finance into a single source of truth
Handle the realities of app measurement: SKAN, attribution gaps and privacy changes
Build and maintain pipelines and data models that scale as the portfolio grows
Insight and analysis
Turn app data into clear recommendations for leadership and studio CEOs
Spot trends across categories, markets and platforms before they show up in revenue
Bring AI and automation into analysis wherever it saves time
How we work
Egos stay at the door. We build as one team. Our strength comes from collective judgement, not any one person or function.
We play to win. We set high standards, move fast and hold each other to them.
No problem is too small. We’re building, so nothing is someone else’s job and progress matters more than hierarchy.
Lead, challenge or back. Know when to take the lead, when to push back and when to get behind someone else’s expertise.
What we’re looking for
4+ years in BI, analytics or data roles in mobile apps
Strong SQL, and hands-on experience with a modern BI tool
Experience with app data: MMPs (AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular), ad networks and app store data
Solid understanding of app metrics: LTV, ROAS, retention, cohorts and payback
Experience building data pipelines
The ability to explain complex data simply to non-technical people
Self-starter, comfortable working remotely across multiple teams
Nice to have
Python for analysis and automation
Experience across more than one app or studio
Why Quantum
Own data across a portfolio of businesses, not just one
Real influence on how the group runs and where it invests
Long-term backing to build things properly
A small, senior team with no bureaucracy
Fully remote across the EU
About us
About Quantum
The app economy is one of the largest, most cash-generative areas of tech, and it's still fragmented. It's full of founders who have built great products but never had the capital or support to turn them into large businesses.
Quantum is a spinout of Acquinox Capital. Quantum acquires proven, founder-led businesses in the app economy, then invests in their growth. Founders stay in charge, with a share in what comes next. We bring the capital, operating support and experienced people to help them grow faster than bootstrapping or minority investment would allow.
